Keep Off The Beach!
Ever since Kathleen Passidomo sponsored the controversial bill to limit beach access for Florida residents, questions have been flying: Why did she do it?
Why would the state senator representing southwest Florida push through legislation so universally hated–so much so that even Gov. Rick Scott, who signed HB 631 into law, begged that it not be enforced?
Now comes National Public Radio with a report that sheds light on the back story about how this awful bill came into being.
The story details emails between Passidomo and Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and Fox News commentator who just happens to own a beachfront home in Florida.
U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson has attacked Scott for signing Passidomo’s bill and has called on him to call a special session of the legislature to repeal it.
I second that motion.
