Having won a tough primary election battle, Agriculture Commissioner candidate Nikki Fried has taken a break from the campaign trail to endorse my candidacy for state Senate.
I was delighted to get this email from her the other day:
“For decades, our leaders have ignored the will of the people, putting special interests above our natural lands and waterways, our public schools, and above the priorities of working people. It’s time for new leaders.
“Annisa Karim has dedicated her life to the conservation of our waterways; she’s the leader southwest Florida needs.
“I’m proud to endorse her in this election and look forward to working alongside a leader who knows that the success of our economy is linked directly to our environment. Together, we’ll bring real, science-driven solutions to the table and protect our water for generations to come.”
Thank you, Nikki Fried. And thanks to the many others who have also endorsed my campaign including two outstanding southwest Florida candidates, David Holden who is running for Congress in District 19, and state House candidate Jennifer Boddicker, a fellow founding member of Florida Candidates for Science.
